Common problems that you should know if you’re pregnant

Pregnancy is that special time for every woman. She gets to birth a baby inside her. She becomes all supernatural and is able to give birth to another human being. And that is a big deal.

When happiness is huge and immense, you should also be aware of the hiccups side to it. Just so, you don’t want to be irritated later on and hate that 9 or 10 months.  However, the good news is that the most common problems you may face during your pregnancy are, in fact, quite common.

Of course, you must consult your doctor any moment you feel any discomfort during pregnancy. Interim, I have compiled an array of the most common pregnancy problems that you can be aware of.

The most common problems include:

Bleeding in your gums:

  • During your pregnancy, you are sure to expect some pain and swelling, particularly when you brush.
  • It happens often due to hormonal changes as a result of being pregnant.

Constipation:

  • Numerous shifts of hormonal changes in your body may often leave you feeling constipated making it hard for your stools to just pass out.
  • Gulp at least eight to ten glasses of water every day. Be mindful to include as much liquid possible in your diet – fresh juice, milkshakes, tender coconut, etc.
  • You can check with your doctor for a change in the brand on the iron supplements if you are taking one.

Itching:

  • Your body will pump more blood to your skin, thus leaving you running your nails over your epidermis.
  • Over your third trimester, your bump would begin to widen and this will mean more itching and its natural.
  • Ensure it is mild itching. If you find yourself scratching more, it could be an indication of a health condition called obstetric cholestasis or intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). So visit your doctor.

Heartburn and Indigestion:

  • Your hormonal changes will put you to indigestion, sometimes at the start of your second trimester.
  • Also,  your growing baby is another reason because it needs space to fit itself in your womb. This will exert pressure on your stomach causing you those itchy heartburns and indigestion.
  • Eating light meals and breaking them up into small meals through the day will be of help.

Bleeding through your nose:

  • Be prepared for a little nose bleed when you are pregnant.
  • The main reason is the change in your hormone levels.
  • Your skin will dry more than usual and the same goes with the nose’s skin and that will lead to bleeding, a little.

Mild leaking from nipples:

  • Your body will begin producing milk as soon as you know the news.
  • The fluid is called colostrum, the first ever milk that your body will lactate.

Increase in vaginal discharge:

  • You will see an increase in the amount of white discharge from your vagina.
  • The white discharge will accompany a foul smell and color difference.
  • The increase in vaginal discharge is good. It aids to wash off any infection that may otherwise attack from your vagina to the womb.

Vaginal bleeding:

  • You are sure to see some spots on your undies while you are pregnant. This is normal, however, your doctor should know about your bleeding.
  • The little blood that you see in your early pregnancy is called spotting. This is due to embryo getting implanted in the walls of your womb.
  • However, if you see any bleeding within 12 weeks, it may also be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage.

Headache:

  • You will experience a mild headache in the initial weeks of your pregnancy. In some cases, it may also be a little severe.
  • Hormone level changes are the reason behind the headaches.
  • Trying recommended yoga only and/or relaxation techniques will help you get some good night’s sleep.
  • Drinking at least 8 to 10 glasses of water will keep your body hydrated and help you eschew from a headache.

Uneasy pain Pelvic Region:

  • This is no common, however, a few women do feel discomfort and a lot of pain in their pelvic region when they are pregnant.
  • The pain is known as pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) or symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD).
  • A few common symptoms of PPGP are acute pain on your lower back, pain between your anus and vagina, and pain near the pubic bone.
  • The pain will be while climbing stairs, turning in bed, walking, or standing on one leg.
  • Your doctor should definitely know when you experience any kind of pain during your pregnancy.
